Nice guys to have as a shop to go to but they have passed the buck on an item or two. They believe a noise in the front is from my tire tread but again after rotating my tires the noise is still there and shows it's the rack and pinion they put in. They also will not fix a loss of horsepower in the new engine they installed as well as the rough idle they have left it with now for 12,000 miles since installed. Now making me fix at my cost the factors of making it run smooth. My other engine ran smooth!! Yes. Great guys and they were highly recommended. But when they put the wrong oil in ,or they won't go on a ride with you to show them a noise still there, or even the first day they put the new engine in, I took it for a test drive and i wanted to show them the lack of horsepower, they refused and showed they wanted to try and fix something on their own without my direction. I feel now they don't want to look into any more problems because of lack of profit to be made and then later on just tell me that it's now bad because of the wear and tear and mileage. Yet I give them ample time and opportunity to solve and resolve these issues.
Hello Al, Thank you for your review! When speaking of your rough idle, when you were here last week the idle was as smooth as it could be. We could barely feel it running. We have checked for codes and found none stored, however you cleared them out before you got here with your obd reader. All the fuel trims are within spec, there were no misfires going on. We have talked at length about the engine feeling down on power. I did not go for a ride with you when you 1st stated it felt like it was down on power because I personally would not be able to tell if it is or isn't. That is why we sent you at our expense to a shop to have the truck put on a dyno to measure the output of power at the rear wheels. You brought me the printout from the shop. Your engine is 4 horsepower shy of the industry standard of 18 to 22% loss from crank to wheels. Part of that loss could be from the transmission, which has 400k on it. There is not anything I can do to add more power. Concerning the incorrect oil from the oil change we performed last week. I did not know you wanted synthetic oil. I offered to change it right away when you told me, and you declined. Concerning the noise you are speaking about. In June we found that there was a front wheel bearing making noise, and both front axles were leaking grease. We replaced the wheel bearing and axles. To my recollection, you have not told me about the noise still being there. After going through the history on your truck with us and looking in hindsight I'm not sure how we could have offered you better service. We continuously look for ways to improve our customer experience and apologize for yours not being a more positive one with us. Thank you for taking the time for write down your notes on the experience here. We appreciate it. Bret
